8. Messi-Antics with Matt Nappier
Matt has been a believer in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob for many years and has been on the Torah-Observant path since 2007. He is one of three community pastors at Lighthouse Messianic Fellowship in Monroe, LA, and they have been ministering to Monroe and the surrounding areas since 2016. He is also engaged with the greater Messianic community through Messiah Meetings, multiple Sukkots, and other speaking events. He has a heart for building bridges across denominational lines, and he helps lead several in depth Bible studies with other churches and groups in his area.
Matt loves to draw on historical records and 1st Century context in search of a deeper aspect to the Biblical narrative, especially in reference to the Messiah. Matt graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a degree in Social Sciences. He then went on to earn a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Amridge University, and he is currently a PhD candidate at the same university with an expected graduation in May 2024. His focus later in his education has been on literary criticism, Hebrew poetry, and the prophets, and his dissertation focuses on comparing the Hebrew and Greek texts of the book of Micah. He recently retired from the Army after 22 years of service, and he is currently the Director of Workforce Education and Recruiting at Louisiana Delta Community College.
He married Malissa, the absolute love of his live and true ezer keengdo, in 2008, and they have three beautiful girls and two handsome boys – Moriyah, Mayah, Mikaylah, Malachi, and Michael - along with a Poodle named Molly.
