Spotless?
Jul 23, 2024In my reflections on Leviticus today, I found myself wrestling with the concept of sacrificial perfection—no spots, no blemishes required. It's a demanding standard, one that seems impossible to meet. This dilemma struck me deeply, but a recent insight brought me to tears.
Listening to Tara Leigh Cobble on The Bible Recap, she illuminated a profound truth: despite my efforts, I can never be without sin or blemish. Instead, it's Jesus—the spotless Lamb—who fulfills this requirement. The verses I've read countless times suddenly took on new significance: "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Rom 3:23)" None of us can stand before God on our own merits; we all need the cleansing blood of the perfect Lamb.
This truth resonates profoundly as I consider the future return of Christ for his church, described as "without spot or wrinkle.(Eph 5:27)" Through Jesus, I am seen as flawless because of his sacrifice. It's not about my striving but about applying the redeeming blood of Yeshua to my life. We are overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimonies (Rev 12:11).
Understanding this brings a profound sense of peace and gratitude. It's a reminder that my acceptance before God isn't about my perfection, but about the perfect Lamb who covers me with his righteousness.
My prayer for you today is that you KNOW Him like that. That you have layed your life down in all it's imprefections. With all it's spots and received Him as your Savior.
